Vol. 549 No. 4

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

208 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will amend the eligibility criteria regarding income for the affordable housing and shared ownership schemes to take into account wage rises since the criteria were last set; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7043/02]

The income limit for eligibility for the shared ownership and affordable housing schemes was revised and increased marginally to €32,000 for a single income household, with a pro rata increase for a dual income household, following the introduction of the euro on 1 January 2002. While I have no plans at present to revise the maximum income limits, I am keeping the terms of both schemes under review.
