Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Allen – the increasing incidence of street violence in urban areas with specific reference to the three most recent serious assaults in Cork City; (2) Deputy Healy – the need for the appointment of community gardaí in the towns of Clonmel, Tipperary Town and Carrick-on-Suir; (3) Deputy Rabbitte – the reason the Minister for Education and Science is withholding permission to go to tender for a necessary school's refurbishment project in Dublin 24, given that the required local contribution has been met, plans agreed and professional fees discharged; (4) Deputies McGrath and Penrose – the up to date situation concerning the need for a new second level school in Kilbeggan to replace the Mercy secondary school; (5) Deputy Wall – the need for the Government to act on the spiralling cost of insurance for businesses; (6) Deputy Dukes – the question of delays in payments to farmers whose sheep flocks have been culled in the context of anti-scrapie measures; (7) Deputy Seán Ryan – the need to refurbish the existing schools and to construct permanent classrooms at St. Cronan's junior and senior national schools, Brackenstown, Swords, County Dublin; (8) Deputy McGinley – an géar-ghá le scoil bun-oideachais a thógáil i nGort a' Choirce, Dún na nGall; (9) Deputy Upton – that the Minister for Education and Science indicate when long awaited and vital refurbishment work will be carried out for a school; (10) Deputy Deenihan – the crisis in Tralee General Hospital because of the lack of beds in the accident and emergency unit; and (11) Deputy Enright – to immediately provide four new classrooms and appropriate ancillary accommodation at Lumcloon national school, which is currently at stage three of the architectural planning process and to proceed with the project at the earliest possible date in order to provide the necessary accommodation urgently required at Lumcloon national school.

The matters raised by the Deputies Wall, McGinley, Allen and Healy have been selected for discussion.
