Vol. 550 No. 2

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Austin Deasy

Question:

234 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children the improvements which have been made to ensure that a replacement speech and language therapist is provided for St. John's Special School, Dungarvan, County Waterford. [7912/02]

I have been informed by the South-Eastern Health Board that the board is actively working to fill the vacancy in Dungarvan, recruiting is ongoing. The board regrets that it has had to temporarily suspend this service, but has assured my Department that it will be resumed once a second speech and language therapist is recruited for the Dungarvan area.
