Vol. 550 No. 2

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Michael Ring

Question:

247 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if arrangements will be made for a social worker from the Western Health Board to investigate the reason persons (details supplied) in County Mayo are living in such poor conditions; and the reason a mobile home or a pre-fab cannot be made available for them. [7573/02]

I have been informed by the Western Health Board that the matter referred to by the Deputy is currently being investigated by their Community Welfare Services division. However, the Western Health Board is not the Statutory Housing Authority in the area and therefore the issue of the provision of alternative accommodation would be a matter for Mayo County Council.
