Question:

282 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health and Children the funding which is available to the national suicide review group for 2002; his plans to increase the funding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7744/02]

Additional revenue funding of €0.063 million has been allocated to the national suicide review group this year, bringing the total funding available for the group to over €0.285 million. Any further increases in this funding will be considered in the context of the estimates process for 2003 and subsequent years.

Question:

283 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health and Children if grants or payments have been made by the national suicide review group to projects in the North-Western Health Board area; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7745/02]

I have been informed by the national suicide review group that to date it has not allocated funding for projects in the North-Western Health Board area. However, the group is currently inviting further applications for funding and prospective applicants should submit details of their projects to the group.
