Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Michael Creed

Question:

813 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education and Science the additional resources he will make available to a school (details supplied) in County Cork to provide the necessary level of service for children therein with special needs. [8904/02]

In January my Department approved an increase in the level of special needs assistant support provided to the school in question. This increased allocation was made to cater for the care needs of a second pupil with special needs attending the school. The school authorities have been notified of this increased allocation. It is open to the school to submit an application for further such support on the basis of departmental circular 7/02.
