Higgins asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources when he expects to receive the report of the consultants preparing a feasibility study on the potential for a ferry service linking Achill Island to the Erris peninsula; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The feasibility study of the potential for a ferry service linking Achill Island to the Erris Peninsula, which was awarded, following a public tender process, to Tourism and Transport Consult International incorporating Tourism and Leisure Partners in association with Marine Development Limited, is scheduled to be completed in May 2002.
