Vol. 551 No. 2

Written Answers. - Swimming Pool Projects.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

176 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Defence if he will sanction the employment of further staff for the swimming pool in the Curragh in order that children from local schools can use the pool, in view of the fact that one particular school (details supplied) in County Kildare has already offered to hire its own swimming instructor; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10315/02]

The question of the appropriate staffing for the Curragh swimming pool is currently under review as part of a study of staff allocation in all areas of the Defence Forces training centre. When this general issue has been resolved it is intended to expand the use of the facility beyond normal working hours and the application in question will be reconsidered at that time.
