Question:

222 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Finance when the Board of Ordnance Survey, Ireland, as provided for in Section 11 of the Ordnance Survey Ireland Act, 2001, will be appointed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9779/02]

I have appointed Mr. Kevin Bonner, as chairperson, and nine ordinary members, to serve on the board of Ordnance Survey Ireland, with effect from the establishment of OSI as a body corporate, that is 4 March 2002. In accordance with the provisions of section 11 of the Ordnance Survey Ireland Act, 2001, the duration of the appointments vary from four to five years. The chairperson and the following members will serve for a period of five years: Mr. Liam O'Farrell Mr. William Callaghan, Mr. Patrick J. O'Sullivan Mr. Rory M. Scanlan and Mr. Bill Attley. While Mr. Michael Hayes, Mr. Thomas Madden, Mr. Liam Egan and Mr. Pat W. Fenton will serve for a period of four years.
