Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

141 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he has received an application form from persons (details supplied) in County Cork under the scheme of investment aid for the development of grain storage on farms; if this application meets with the qualifying criteria under the scheme of grant aid; when a decision will be made on this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11094/02]

Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Mr. Walsh): An application was received from the persons named under the scheme of investment aid for the development of grain storage on farms. Under the conditions of the scheme applicants were obliged to submit all necessary supporting documentation with their application. A business plan is part of the necessary supporting documentation. No business plan was received in this case and, in the circumstances, the application could not be accepted. On 20 March 2002, my Department wrote to these applicants and notified them of the decision.
