271 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Health and Children the assumptions which have been made in relation to health inflation in drawing up the Government's health strategy. [11028/02]
The costs involved in the health strategy, Quality and Fairness – A Health System for You, are expressed in 2001 prices. Given the difficulties associated with projecting health inflation in a realistic way over the lifetime for the health strategy, for example, pay projections or future medical inflation, it was considered appropriate to price the strategy in current terms.
