Vol. 552 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

420 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the long delay in a person (details supplied) receiving a spine operation; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that this person has actually been waiting for two years but was transferred from one hospital to another and thereby slipped down the list; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12056/02]

Responsibility for the provision of health services to persons living in County Dublin rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to her directly as a matter of urgency.
