190 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be granted an oral hearing on their appeal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13548/02]
An appeal was lodged by the herdowner on 19 March 2002 concerning his 2001 suckler cow premium application. However, this case had not yet been reviewed at local office level. In accordance with normal departmental procedures in such cases, the file was referred to the district inspector, who is currently in the process of carrying out the review. It is expected that a decision on this case will be issued in the near future. If the herdowner is not happy with the outcome of that review he may appeal that decision to the Agriculture Appeals Office in Portlaoise which was established on 13 May 2002.
