Vol. 553 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

205 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the position regarding REP scheme payments to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; the payments received by this person in 2000, 2001 and 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13859/02]

A statement of the amounts paid will be sent directly to the person named in the next few days. He is in the final month of his current REPS contract and has received his five annual payments. However, a penalty has been imposed on foot of a compliance inspection, and as all REPS payments had issued prior to the inspection, my Department had put arrangements in place to recover the penalty amount from payments due to the person named under other schemes.
