Vol. 553 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

485 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children if an early appointment could be arranged with St. James's Hospital in Dublin for a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who has been waiting for over two and a quarter years for this procedure and is extremely anxious at present in view of the fact that the appointment offered is not for another five months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13180/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
