515 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health and Children the procedure used by health boards for the processing of spectacles to school children; if the process is determined by his Department or each health board; and if a more speedy, efficient and simpler process can be found with approval from opticians. The question of processing spectacles to school children, within its area of responsibility, is a matter for each health board and the Eastern Regional Health Authority. I have asked the regional chief executive of the ERHA and the chief executive officer of the health boards to write directly to the Deputy to advise him of the process in operation within their area of responsibility.
