Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John Perry

Question:

541 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received an application for funding from the Irish Underwater Council for a properly established and manned decompression chamber to deal with emergencies; if the funding will be made available; the amount of moneys which have been granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13534/02]

My Department has received proposals from the Western Health Board to upgrade the hyperbaric chamber at University College Hospital, Galway. The question of providing funding for this project is being examined in the context of the capital funding available.
