Question:

306 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will receive an urgent and early appointment with Blanchardstown Hospital in view of the fact she is in severe pain at present and has been informed that she will have to wait a further 11 weeks for an appointment; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14606/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Auth ority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

307 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11 is entitled to have laser treatment to deal with her deteriorating eyesight under the GMS scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14613/02]
