(11) Deputy Hogan – the need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to indicate when she will publish the Forfás report on prices and what action she will take to protect consumers from this large scale price rip off and to safeguard consumers against profiteering under the cover of the euro changeover (12) Deputy Killeen – the urgent need to sanction the appointment of an additional teacher at Barefield national school, County Clare, in view of the pressure arising from special needs provisions and the staffing crisis in other Clare schools; (13) Deputy Ó Caoláin – the urgent need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to raise with the British government the recent activities of its military and police forces in the Six Counties who have intervened directly in the political process by seeking to use events such as the break-in at Castlereagh to falsely accuse republicans and secure the expulsion of Sinn Féin from the Executive and to undermine the peace process; (14) Deputy Broughan – the urgent need to preserve the social economy by legislating support for the community employment programme which is now being slashed in areas of deprivation.

The matters raised by Deputies McGuinness, Ring, Seán Ryan and Sargent have been selected for discussion.
