Question:281 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a suckler cow quota will be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [15919/02]
Written Answers. - Suckler Cow Quota.
There is no record in my Department of an application for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the 2003 national reserve having been received from the person named. The closing date for receipt of applications was 30 August 2002 and I regret that an application cannot be accepted at this stage. The person named may of course lease in or buy suckler cow quota on the open market for the 2003 application period, which begins on 2 January 2003 and ends on 27 June 2003. It should be noted that any lease or purchase transaction must be completed before an application for the 2003 suckler cow premium is submitted.
