749 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Education and Science if a computer or a grant for a computer will be provided to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; and if there is help available for such a person to get a computer in their home. [17357/02]
My Department operates a scheme for the provision of grants to second level schools towards the purchase of equipment for the use of pupils with certain disabilities or communication difficulties. Computer equipment and software are items that may be provided. It is open to all recognised second level schools to make application under the scheme. The use of the equipment in the pupil's home is a matter for the school board of management.
