807 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the progress made on an application for the farm electrification grant scheme submitted by a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15979/02]

Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources (Mr. D. Ahern):

An application for grant aid under the farm electrification grant scheme was received on 8 July 2002 from the person in question. However, as the applicant did not satisfy the criteria for eligibility, the application could not be approved and the applicant was advised accordingly on 19 July 2002.
