Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Sports Capital Programme.

Tom Hayes

Question:

869 Mr. Hayes asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the reason a grant of £5,000 which was approved for the Dermot Hurley Pipe Band, Cashel, County Tipperary, in 1999 under the sports capital programme has not to date been paid; and when this grant will be paid. [16156/02]

A grant of €6,349, £5,000, was provisionally allocated to the organisation in question under the 2001 sports capital programme in respect of the purchase of equipment. Documentation required from the organisation in order to enable payment was recently received and a cheque in payment of the grant is due to issue today.
