875 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism the level of financial assistance given to individual musicians in Counties Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo from Arts Council grants in each of the years from 1997 to date in 2002; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism (Mr. O'Donoghue):

Public funding for the kind of arts activity referred to by the Deputy is allocated by the Arts Council, a statutory body which is independent with regard to individual funding decisions. The Deputy should, therefore, address her request directly to the Arts Council.
