Question:

137 Mr. Coveney asked the Taoiseach the number of deaths by drowning for each of the past five years; the age profile in this regard; and the number who have drowned in Irish waters. [17064/02]

The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the following table. All data supplied relates to drownings in Irish waters. The CSO does not compile statistics on deaths in non-Irish waters.
