1004 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons for the delay in providing an operation for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the reason this person was told by Tallaght Hospital that it would take over one year for the operation; and if the operation can be expedited in view of this person's circumstances. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

Responsibility for the provision of services for persons living in County Kilkenny rests with the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
