Question:

1067 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department will intervene on behalf of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo and have this person called for a hip operation in view of the fact that their condition has deteriorated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16233/02]

Responsibility for the provision of health services to persons residing in County Sligo rests with the North-Western Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
