1157 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason he has failed to provide any funding for AMEN. [16826/02]

In recent years my Department has made funding available to the organisation AMEN which provides services to male victims of domestic violence. My Department has also funded independent research, in conjunction with the North-Eastern Health Board, in relation to the incidence of domestic violence perpetrated against men in Ireland. Details of this funding are as follows:

1999 – £16,000 (€20,315.81)
