Vol. 554 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

1165 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny was informed some time ago that they would be called for a heart operation in six weeks and now a number of months later they are still on the waiting list and have not been contacted; and if his Department will expedite their case in view of the fact that they are almost two years on the list and are prioritised as urgent. [16878/02]

Responsibility for the provision of services for persons living in County Kilkenny rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer at the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
