Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Question:

1165 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny was informed some time ago that they would be called for a heart operation in six weeks and now a number of months later they are still on the waiting list and have not been contacted; and if his Department will expedite their case in view of the fact that they are almost two years on the list and are prioritised as urgent. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

Responsibility for the provision of services for persons living in County Kilkenny rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer at the board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply to him directly.
