Question:

278 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the grant aid paid by his Department under the disabled person's grant scheme to each local authority in each of the past five years; the maximum grant application under the scheme for each of those years; and the rate of matching funds which had to be provided by local authorities in the same period. Where work commenced	Grant Amount
On or after 6 Dec 2000.	90% of approved cost of works (generally confined to €20,316 maximum).
From 1 Dec 1999 to 5 Dec 2000.	90% of approved cost of works (generally confined to €17,776 maximum).

Where work commenced	Grant Amount
From 2 Dec 1998 to 30 Nov 1999.	75% of approved cost of works (generally confined to €15,237 maximum).
From 1 March 1993 to 1 Dec 1998.	75% of approved cost of works (generally confined to €10,158 maximum).
From 1 Dec 1985 to 28 Feb 1993.	75% of approved cost of works (generally confined to €6,349 maximum).

In the case of a rented local authority house, the full approved cost of the works may be paid.
