Vol. 555 No. 3

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Fergus O'Dowd

Question:

253 Mr. O'Dowd asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs if there will be extra resources allocated from her Department to Drogheda in consideration of the massive population increase that now makes Drogheda the largest town in the country; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18553/02]

Staffing resources in my Department's offices are reviewed on a regular basis and adjusted to reflect changing demands arising from changing claimloads and other factors. The staffing levels in the Drogheda office were reviewed within the last few months and adjusted to take account of all of the factors impacting on the level of activity in the office.

I am satisfied that the number of employees assigned to the Drogheda office is adequate to deliver the range of services this office supplies. Staffing levels in the office remain subject to ongoing review and will be reassessed as the need arises.
