Pat Breen

Question:

130 Mr. P. Breen asked the Minister for Health and Children his proposals to replace the ultra sound machine at Ennis General Hospital immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18780/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 129 and 130 together.

The development of services at Ennis General Hospital is a matter for the Mid-Western Health Board in the first instance. The Mid-Western Health Board has been in touch with my Department in relation to the replacement of these items of equipment. An official from my Department visited the hospital and examined the radiology equipment in the hospital. The replacement of the equipment is under consideration.
