International Agreements: Motions.

I move:

That the proposal that Dáil Éireann, in accordance with the provisions of Article 29.5.2 of the Constitution of Ireland, approves the terms of the international agreement entitled "Agreement on Education Co-operation between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the People's Republic of China" signed by both Governments on 19th February, 2001 and laid before Dáil Éireann on 18th September, 2001, be referred to the Select Committee on Education and Science, in accordance with paragraph (1)(a)(iii) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee, which shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 85, and Standing Order 84(2) shall accordingly apply.

No. The Green Party objects to the measure.

That the proposal that Dáil Éireann, in accordance with the provisions of Article 29.5.2 of the Constitution of Ireland, approve the terms of the international agreement entitled "Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Ireland and the Government of Malaysia on Co-operation in the Field of Education" signed by both Governments on 4 September 2001 and laid before Dáil Éireann on 31 January 2002, be referred to the Select Committee on Education and Science, in accordance with paragraph (1)(a)(iii) of the Orders of Reference of that committee, which shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 85, and Standing Order 84(2) shall accordingly apply.
