Question:

284 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health and Children his views on the length of stay in Holles Street maternity hospital for women following the delivery of their babies; the reason this time is so short; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18920/02]

Services for eligible patients at the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street, are provided under an arrangement with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to investigate the matter raised and to reply directly to the Deputy.
