Vol. 556 No. 1

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Kehoe – the need for a concession to allow New Ross Vocational College to be fully funded under the school completion programme; (2) Deputy O'Connor – the implementation of the long promised building programme at St. Kilians national school, Castleview, Dublin 24; (3) Deputy Hayes – the need for the Minister for Health and Children to say what plans he has to grant extra funding to the South-Eastern Health Board to allocate extra staff to Our Lady's Hospital in Cashel, where a work to rule is currently taking place; (4) Deputy Neville – the construction of a new school at St. Nicholas primary school, Adare; (5) Deputy Coveney – the actions to be taken to secure free to view television coverage of international Irish soccer coverage and Irish rugby internationals played at home; (6) Deputy Eamon Ryan – the closure of some rail freight services by Iarnród Éireann; (7) Deputy Timmins – the need to address the difficulties in the beef sector; (8) Deputy Deenihan – the urgent need to restore the services of a garda sergeant in the parish of Lixnaw, County Kerry, one of the largest parishes in Kerry, which are being withdrawn this Friday; (9) Deputies Hayes and Coveney – the need for the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources to outline his plans for the provision of operations licences to radio stations in County Tipperary, the number of licences he intends to grant and the assessment procedure when deciding on such licences; (10) Deputy Allen – the very negative effect that the two year limit on planning permissions is having on the house building programme at a time when house prices are still rising due to supply not meeting demand; (11) Deputy Finian McGrath – Dublin Bay and the proposed 52 acre infill by the Port Company.

The matters raised by Deputies O'Connor, Neville, Eamon Ryan and Deenihan have been selected for discussion.
