548 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason the health authorities will not continue to provide incontinence pads when elderly people enter nursing homes; and if he will issue a directive changing this policy. [20301/02]

My Department is in ongoing contact with the ERHA and the health boards in relation to the issue raised by the Deputy and I am confident that difficulties which have arisen in particular areas can be resolved soon.
