172 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources his plans to undertake an analysis of the benefits of creating a sub-domain of the .ie domain name such as the successful .co.uk sub-domain for UK-based companies, or the newly created .me.uk domain name for individuals; and if he will make a statement on the matter. In a recently published report, Legislating for Competitive Advantage in e-Business and Information & Communications Technologies, Forfás made a number of recommendations in relation to domain and sub-domain names. These recommendations will be examined by my Department in the coming months.
