Vol. 557 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

John McGuinness

Question:

239 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children further to Parliamentary Question No. 133 of 6 February 2002, if his Department will pay for visudyne therapy on an ongoing basis for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; if his Department will consider funding such cases in consultation with health insurers should the patient have such cover; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21837/02]

The provision of medical services for people living in County Kilkenny is, in the first instance, a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate further the case raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him.
