Vol. 557 No. 4

Written Answers. - Residency Permits.

Seán Haughey

Question:

393 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if an application by a person (details supplied) in County Dublin for permission to remain here can be expedited; if medical evidence dated August 2002 to this effect has been received by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22182/02]

An application was received from the person in question on 1 July 2002 for permission to remain in the State, based on parentage of an Irish born child. Applications of this nature are dealt with in strict chronological order and take approximately six to eight months to process. There is no record of medical evidence dated August 2002 having been received by my Department in connection with the application to which the Deputy refers.
