Vol. 557 No. 4

Written Answers. - Harbours and Piers.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

120 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources if necessary projects, such as the development of Adam's Quay as a fish landing quay in Kinsale, County Cork, will be delayed due to shortage of funding. [22442/02]

While €30 million has been provided in the Estimates for 2003 for the development of fishery harbours a large part of that allocation is to complete projects which have already commenced. Funding will also be required for necessary capital expenditures in the designated fishery harbour centres. Other proposed projects, such as Adams Quay, will be considered in the context of the funding available and overall national priorities.
