McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received an application for grant aid from a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath to improve safety at the entrance to this school; if funds are available for these works; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Issues relating to traffic safety outside school grounds are the responsibility of the relevant local authority. My Department is not in a position to make funding available for this purpose.
