375 Mr. O'Dowd asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the recent decision of the Royal College of Surgeons in relation to the recognition of surgical posts in Louth County Hospital, Dundalk; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23752/02]

Responsibility for the provision of services at Louth County Hospital, Dundalk, rests with the North-Eastern Health Board. The board is experiencing difficulties in securing training recognition from the Royal College of Surgeons for surgical training posts at Louth County Hospital. The board is continuing to work with the college in a bid to resolve these issues.
