Dublin Bus serves the Kildare towns of Maynooth, Kilcock, Leixlip and Celbridge. Over the past few years, additional resources have been allocated to the routes 66, 66A, 66B, 66X, 67, 67A and 67X, which serve these towns, to take advantage of the bus priority measures on the Lucan quality bus corridor, QBC.
Dublin Bus plans to further increase the service to all four towns to exploit the advantages of the proposed Lucan QBC extension to the Spa Hotel with both all day and peak time Xpress schedules adding capacity and frequency to these routes.
Commuters from the north Kildare area are also benefiting from the enhanced services provided by Bus Éireann, with an increase in scheduled departures. For example, on the Edenderry-Clane-Dublin route, the number of departures has increased from six in 1999 to 20 today. There is also a 200% increase in departures on the Mullingar-Kilcock-Dublin route. High capacity commuter coaches are serving all these routes together with the Naas-Newbridge route.
