Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - CLÁR Programme.

Michael Ring

Question:

485 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs if CLÁR funding will be allocated to provide an access bridge for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [23676/02]

Under the CLÁR pro gramme funding is available for local improvement scheme roads and class 111 local roads in CLÁR areas. Mayo County Council has advised me that the access bridge does not qualify for local authority funding under the roads schemes to which the Deputy referred. Consequently, neither does it qualify for CLÁR funding. The question of its eligibility for LIS funding under CLÁR is one for the local authority to determine. No proposal to fund under any CLÁR scheme was received by my Department from Mayo County Council.
