Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

188 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cavan, whose herd was destocked with BSE in 2001 and whose herd number was changed by the Department, will be awarded suckler premium; if he has satisfied himself that this delay is justified; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23626/02]

Payment of the 80% advance, totaling €10,041.92, under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme has issued to the person named. Payment of €1,075.92 issued to him on 16 October 2002 and a further payment of €8,966.00 issued to him on 25 November 2002.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

189 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason the premium payment was not awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23671/02]

The 2002 area aid application of the person named has been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 177.04 hectares. Payment of the 2002 supplementary premium was delayed pending final processing of the 2002 area aid details. As this processing has now been completed, payment of the supplementary premium was made to the person named on 21 November 2002.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

190 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment under REP scheme II will issue to persons (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23672/02]

My Department received the completed application in this case on 13 November 2002. The application is being processed in accordance with the targets set down out in the protocol on direct payments to farmers.

Michael Ring

Question:

191 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received an area based payment for 2002; the reason for the delay; and when this person can expect to receive payment. [23747/02]

The person named included a land parcel on his 2002 area aid application on which he failed to furnish proof of entitlement to the land. The area aid unit wrote to him in this regard. The herdowner replied and submitted the required documentation. His 2002 area aid application has now been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 43.55 hectares. The person named will be paid his full entitlement under the 2002 area based compensatory allowance scheme shortly.
