Minister for Education and Science (Mr. N. Dempsey): I propose to take Questions Nos. 156, 157, 158, 159, 161, 162, 163 and 164 together.
My Department has an extensive primary school building programme under way, details of which are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. Given the extensive nature of the building programme, my Department has no plans at present to initiate architectural planning for any further major building projects for the foreseeable future.
My Department's technical staff are working on tender documentation to deal with repairs to the roof of the school in question. Funding for this project will be considered in the context of the allocation in 2003 for primary school building projects. My Department is not aware of any room at the school being designated "red alert" by engineers who surveyed the school as part of a pilot inventory of school accommodation project. Some of the electrics at the school were assessed as requiring attention and the board of management should use its devolved grant to deal with this and other urgent health and safety works at the school.
