Other Questions. - Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy O'Dowd – that the Department of Arts, Tourism and Sport prioritise the funding of Drogheda swimming pool under the provision and renovation of swimming pools grant; (2) Deputy Murphy – the financial crisis facing local authorities; (3) Deputy M. Moynihan – the refurbishment and proposed remedial works for the Christian Brothers secondary school in Charleville, County Cork; (4) Deputy Sargent – the urgent need to update the Control of Dogs Act, 1986; (5) Deputy Gilmore – the future of the Shanganagh Castle centre for young offenders in Shankill, County Dublin; (6) Deputy Allen – the need to make a decision on the construction of a new school of music at Union Quay, Cork; (7) Deputy O'Sullivan – the need to provide resources in 2003 to fully develop the specialist breast cancer centre at the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick; (8) Deputy Ferris – the need for a full and thorough investigation into the entire circumstances surrounding the granting of planning permission to the Corrib gas consortium in view of the questions that were raised in last night's "Channel 4 News" and other information not yet in the public sphere; (9) Deputy Lynch – the need for humanitarian relief for areas in Cork affected by severe flooding; (10) Deputy Deenihan – the urgent need to reverse the decision by Aer Rianta to close the Torc Great Southern Hotel in Killarney in view of the widespread concern among the staff of the hotel and the tourist industry in Killarney.

The matters raised by Deputies Lynch, Allen, O'Sullivan and Sargent have been selected for discussion.
