Vol. 558 No. 2

Written Answers. - Illegal Immigrants.

Finian McGrath

Question:

80 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will intervene in a case (details supplied) and stop the deportation of these persons; and the reason for the behaviour of his officials on 8 October 2002 at 7 a.m. at the family's home. [23637/02]

I refer the Deputy to my replies to Questions Nos. 628 of 5 November 2002, 410 of 12 November 2002 and 259 of 13 November 2002. The legal representatives of the persons concerned have recently instituted judicial review proceedings and as this matter is now sub judice I cannot comment further.

In the course of my reply to Question No. 628 of 5 November 2002, I addressed in considerable detail the sequence of events which occurred when members of the Garda National Immigration Bureau attempted to enforce the deportation orders in respect of the persons concerned on 8 October last.
