Vol. 558 No. 2

Written Answers. - Garda Investigations.

Joe Sherlock

Question:

95 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the action which has been taken by the Garda authorities arising from the very serious criticism of the conduct of two Garda officers made by a judge in the Special Criminal Court in a case (details supplied); if the two gardaí remain on normal duties; when the promised Garda inquiry will be concluded; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23712/02]

I refer the Deputy to my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 17 on 17 October 2002.

I am advised by the Garda authorities that although the investigation in question is at an advanced stage it is not yet concluded.
