Question:

140 Mr. Allen asked the Taoiseach the total amount of beef, chicken, fish, seafood, lamb, potatoes, fruit and other vegetables imported in 2000, 2001 and to date in 2002; the amount and country of origin in each case; and if the items were processed or unprocessed in each case. [24290/02]

The data requested by the Deputy is presented in the following tables. The data relates to the years 2000, 2001 and the period January to August 2002 – August 2002 being the latest month for which information is available. Only summary data is provided at this stage and, in particular, no distinction is made between processed and unprocessed items. The detailed data will be forwarded separately and directly as agreed with the Deputy.
